On November 20, 2020, at 44 years of age, after 13 years of religious life and 9 years of priesthood, Fr. Martín Isidro Cazán Ruíz of the Mexican Vice-Province of Holy Mary of Guadalupe and resident of the parish of San Felipe de Jesús, in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico, where he served as local minister, treasurer, parochial vicar, and counselor of the fraternity.

Fr. Martín Isidro was born in the City of Campeche, Campeche, Mexico, to a small family. His parents were Jorge Luis Cazán Yañez and Florinda del Carmen Ruíz, the second of three siblings.

He entered the novitiate on August 6, 2006, concluding it on August 9, 2007. His solemn profession was on August 8, 2010. He was ordained as deacon on January 30, 2011 and he served in the parish of La Divina Providencia in Colonia Moctezuma, Mexico City, for a year and a half. His priestly ordination took place on August 2, 2011 in the parish of La Divina Providencia, mentioned above.

Already a priest, he was assigned to the United States, where he did not stay long, returning to Mexico to the parish of La Divina Providencia in Colonia Moctezuma. His next assignment was the parish of San Felipe de Jesús, in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico, in 2013, where he remained until his death.

Fr. Martín Isidro was a noble brother, simple, thoughtful and of a healthy and holy discretion. He was a hard-working friar, used to living with his undermined health, since he suffered from diabetes for much of his life, and in the end, he had to undergo continuous hemodialysis. The last day of his life was very troubling for the brothers of the San Felipe de Jesús fraternity who witnessed the most difficult moments of his health.  His brothers wanted to take him to the hospital, but in the midst of his fainting spells, he gave his last breath.

The Funeral Mass was presided over by Fr. Miguel Ángel Campos García, a faithful friend and companion of Fr. Martín, and parish priest of that fraternity, with the coffin with his mortal remains. His remains were subsequently cremated.
